“A lot can change in a year…”
Enters our ears as right in front of us is The Emo Princess herself, Robina Hood. The only thing separating us from the lady in red bring this cage wall. Today’s the twenty-first and in three days’ time she gets to face her old foe Magdalena Lockheart in a steel cage match. Maybe that’s why there’s a cage wall here?
“For me…I use to be FSW’s trailblazer, I use to be FSW Champion and I use to be the one fighting for FSW’s right of equality…now I’m practically a relic, gathering dust and struggling against others among the roster while fighting and clawing for a rematch for the Title I lost seven months ago. What about Maggie? Five days ago would mark the one year anniversary of Lockheart making her EWC debut in FSW’s biggest shock via defeating me…now she is a former FSW Champion, a highlight of Rampage and even managed to main event Stranglemania in an Undisputed Championship match…
So much can change in a year. First she defeats me in her debut, then I managed to overcome her in a triple threat by pinning Hope Diamond and outlast her in Rumble in the Bronx…but then she pinned me at WrestleFest to beat me for the FSW Championship and hold onto it long enough to be handed an Undisputed Championship shot, a shot I’ve been previously fighting to allow FSW a shot at. Could defeating me be the springboard Magdalena used to become FSW’s greatest export? Or maybe she was always destined for greatness? It would explain why many have spoken of how she can become a two time FSW Champion…”
Both of Robina’s fists suddenly bang against this fence with a sense of aggressiveness, acrimony oozing from her eyes.
“Over my dead body. Six months ago I announced my intention to hold that belt a second time and I did not spend all this time fighting for said shot just to play second fiddle to some chick who only came back here because she can’t find success on the apparent ‘big leagues’. I mean, look how quickly she tried to offer me a partnership after she failed to beat Ace King at Scars and Stripes. No wait, let me rephrase that, after she didn’t want the United States Championship enough. You think I’m going to roll over for some bird who doesn’t want something enough?
Hell no.
Oh sorry, aren’t I meant to be more respectful towards those who on Rampage? The only reason Michael Saint wanted her on Rampage was because he couldn’t stand the fact that I refused said offer years ago. You often get the next best thing when you can’t get the best and that is why he settled on Maggie. Don’t believe me? Then tune into Tuesday and marvel as my limelight devours her.”
The hostility slowly slips away with each word the Purple Haired Dynamo said until she finds her upper body slumping against the fence.
“Sure a lot can change in a year and Magdalena must have truly gotten better than before. I mean one never headlines two of EWC’s biggest events without being good and can never become a Champion without being great. Yes, I did just call her great for addressing her as anything less would be an insult. For, out of all puppets I had on my stage, she is not only one of the most fun but is also one of the extreme few I actually have a smidge of respect for. When I first saw her I thought she’d be great, hence why – the first time we met – I gave her the advice of never selling herself short…and luckily she followed that advice and is coming into this scene as the spotlight she is…”
The milky skinned woman slides down to her knees, mostly out of our sight, yet before we could try to approach her the demented woman raises back up with her trusty crowbar in hand.
“…however spotlights can be unplugged.”
The metal bar violently bangs against the cage wall, making the fencing shake in the process. We bounce back in shock, only to spot metal fencing to our right and left. We’re in the cage, not this woman with an unstable smile.
“Like the cage, Maggie? For so long I mentally imprisoned myself inside one of these. Constantly thinking how can I defeat you after never properly getting a true upper hand on you. Constantly thinking what can I do about your criticism of my reign as Champion, my reason for staying in FSW and my ability as a mother…”
Miss FSW snarls a little, possibly showing that those words still have some kind of effect on her, before continuing.
“I kept thinking of all those things, over and over again, to a point that I almost allowed myself to drown into the abyss in my lack of an answer. But then it came to me, Maggie. Those words that I told you not long ago, Maggie: sometimes one has to fall before they can rise again. Before rising up to win the FSW Championship, in my biggest victory of last year, I had to overcome an eight month losing streak. And this Tuesday I’m going to rise up from this three month losing streak to achieve the greatest victory this year with my greatest performance of the year.
For I know that it’ll take my greatest performance to finally score a proper victory over you, in this very cage, Maggie. For you’re the Smaug to my Thorin Oakenshield, the Joker to my Batman, the Gary Oak to my Ash Ketchum. You are my most powerful adversary but, just like all those examples, in the end it will be you who falls while I’ll get to be the one who stands up in victory. Oh, I’ve noticed that you’ve been taking lessons from a MMA specialist for quite a while. So perhaps maybe you see the cage as your battlefield…right? Sorry to burst your bubble but I am the only currently active MMA fighter in EWC. So this cage is not going to be your sanctuary, but instead your own personal gas chamber so beware of suffocating to the fumes that’ll flood your head as you realise that you won’t survive the night, let alone win against me.
For while you have changed in a year…
So have I.”
A sickening smirk etches itself across The Emo Princess’ face as she, perhaps tauntingly, rubs the bloodstained end of her crowbar against the fence.
“Hell the fact that I respect you, which is no easy feat to achieve, simply means that I’ll be striking you much, much, much harder than ever before with Bullet Bill lefts, Death Star rights and the mind of potential psychopath. For I know I’ll need all of that strength, all of that speed, all of that wisdom and all the evil within to overcome you in the house that we’ve built as two of the greatest FSW Champions in history, even if it could be my last chance of doing so.
At the start of the year I mentioned my contract expiring this year and with five months to go this could potentially be the very last time our paths cross. I know this and it is because of this that I am desperate to be the one who ends our last dance of blood, sweat and tears – the dance of Magdalena Marie Lockheart versus Megan Treamon – as the victor. So before this Tuesday, before the grandest finale our bloodstained relationship deserve, let me give you these final words Maggie…”
Confidence oozes from The Emo Princess in her voice, wording and the way she puffs her chest out against the metal fencing. While speaking she jabs the curved end of her crowbar into a small hole in the wall and leaves the item hanging from the opening before closing her eyes.
“Once all the smoke disappears,
And every petal has fallen,
I’ll be the last one standing,
While you’ll be the one out of it,
So I’ll come over to you,
Sit down beside you,
Brush your soft hair to the side,
And whisper these words into your ear…”
With her eyes still shut Miss Hood uses her right hand to motion us to come over. We come closer, close enough to only see the milky skinned woman’s face as a smile appears upon her face.
“Look at what you made me do.”
Robina’s eyes snap open and her smile deforms from soft to animalistic as, with a broken laugh, the deranged woman backs up before violently throwing herself at the cage wall, snapping everything off into static.
