“Last time I was in this city I became the FSW Champion…”
Enters our ears as we find ourselves in one of the empty locker rooms inside the Staples Center. Sitting on a bench in front of a locker is the Purple Haired Dynamo known as Otaki as in her hands is a photograph of the moment she lifts the FSW Championship up for the first time.
“It was such a great moment. Before this moment I was struggling over and over again. And yet in this moment I main evented the show, in this very arena, and won the greatest Championship I’ve ever seen. This moment proved myself wrong, this moment proved all of those who supported me right and this moment, unknown to me, started one of FSW’s greatest Championship reigns. Yet, before I can dare to hope for a chance of immortality, I must first replicate that night and defeat the man who I think is better now than the three I had to overcome on that night…Xavier Reid.”
With a soft sigh the milky skinned woman slips the photograph into her cleavage before looking straight at us.
“I think I speak for many when I say that this man was a little screwed over himself. I mean, first he had his Tournament of Power final ruined by his opponent’s backup interfering. Then, at WrestleFest, he ended up feeling like the third wheel as Maggie pinned me for the FSW Championship, robbing him of what could’ve easily been his. And afterwards, on FSW’s twenty-eighteen premiere, the new Champ practically treat him like an afterthought. So obviously he will be more than motivated to bounce back and mount a thunderous charge against Magdalena and her The Future, be it successful or disastrous like Mass Effect’s Suicide Mission I think I’ll have fun seeing the final result…
But I am not a Watchmen, nor member of the local law enforcement, so if Mister Reid expects me to simply lay down and be trampled upon by his charge…then let’s just say that simply end up understand what Dragonite felt like against Jessie’s frying pan. This may end up being my final year here but I’ll be damned before I let myself spend it on my back instead of on my feet in a blaze of glory. Meh…a blaze of glory, just like last time I was in this city.”
The former FSW Champion mumbles out her final few words, as if lost in some kind of mental nostalgia, before shaking her head softly.
“But talking about blazes-”
She leans forward a little.
“-you were on quite a blaze two weeks ago, weren’t you? First you admitted to your arrogance, then you practically threatened to gruesomely put an emphatic end to Stephen Kingston’s career and then – to top it off – you had arguably the greatest match of the night, which ended with you standing tall and victorious. If I am the FSW Champion, or even a member of The Future, I would be shaking in my boots and may even consider getting the first flight far, far, away…
But I ain’t no Maggie…neither am I Bane, Kingston, Glass, Icon or Lancer. I am the one who ran at very challenge, not from them. I am the one who voluntarily demonise herself to save her flesh and blood when others would have given up. I am the one of many who turned FSW from some ‘development’ brand to a premier division wrestling show. I am the one who spent two hundred and five days of her life making the FSW Championship worth a damn. I am Otaki and, unlike the one who is supposed to be carrying the FSW banner, I don’t need to arrange a mob to get some spotlight.”
A smirk slowly etches its way across the Emo Princess’ face.
“I’m going to guess that you’re wondering ‘oh, what does Otaki mean when she said ‘one of many’?’…right? Well, you see, Mister Reid, people like you and Maggie helped me turn FSW into the phenomenon it is today. And for that I thank you…but the best way I can show appreciation is to give you one hell of a match. For, you see, one disappointment I had last year was that I never got to properly give you the singles match a talent like yours deserve. Sure, there is no Championship involved right now but, considering that I could be the biggest obstacle between you and a shot at the belt, wouldn’t you be giving it everything you have to our match, hm?
Good. Because, gratitude or no gratitude, I ain’t no blooming idiot. It’s like what I implied earlier, I need to defeat you so that I can have a chance to become the first two time FSW Champion. And, say whatever you like about me, but I’d be ever so disappointed if I don’t get the greatest of efforts from you Xavier. For what better way to send a message to both Magdalena Lockheart and Criss Cassidy then to take you on at your very best, to the grandest of performances for everyone who’ll enter the Galen Center, and defeat you?”
The Englishwoman ask and giggles a little overconfidently before smiling in a rather cocky manner as she gets up to her feet.
“But you did have a very good point at the last FSW…”
She starts while pulling the picture of her success back out from her cleavage.
“About how, with it being a new year, we do get to hit the reset button-”
The Purple Haired Dynamo slowly starts to rip the photograph in hand.
“-and put everything in the past-”
She sprinkles the shredded remains across the floor in front of her, never once looking away from us while doing so.
“-and look towards the future. So, at this upcoming FSW, I’m going to be hitting that reset button and looking forward to my future, even if it means burying you in the past Xavier Reid.”
After calmly says her words Otaki gives us a final smile before walking past us. The bang that quickly follows indicates that she has left the room, leaving us alone to look down at the ripped picture she was holding at the start of this recording.

act 2
Deep breath, I’m only a few minutes away from my Heart Of Battle first round match against Zion Rogers, I’m even a good ten steps away from the black curtains. He is bigger than me, he is stronger than me and he know more about mixed marital arts than me. Heh, if anything, this guy is almost like a great way to prepare for a clearly determined Xavier Reid this Sunday. But will any preparation be good enough for me to defeat Reid.
“You okay Megan?”
I lift my head up to see Rafael coming over to me in his suit.
“Heh, do you have a worry radar or something?”
I couldn’t help but joke softly before sighing lightly.
“But yeah…I’m worried that if I go out there and get injured, that I’ll end up having to miss my match against Xavier Reid.”
“Well good thing you ain’t getting injured then.”
“But what if he takes advantage of my weakened state and I end up los-”
I find myself interrupted by my old childhood friend placing his right hand on my shoulder in an assuring manner.
“The Megan I know doesn’t just give up like this. Me and Andrew are here to help keep you calm, so stop panicking, okay?”
“But-”
“No buts. You have been a Champion in that place, EWC I believe, for over two hundred days. You have been through the types of hell that’d make me cry home to my mother and came out victorious. It is also only a few days ago that you willingly let yourself go through a flaming table to win that Hardcore Title back. So if you can do all of that, then not only will you come out of this fight with your head held high but, no matter what happens tonight, you’ll also go into the Galen Center and kick that Xavier Reid’s ass.”
He finishes his words with a pat on my shoulder. I couldn’t help but smile at how much faith Rafael has in me.
“Tha-”
“Sorry to interrupt guys-”
Both me and Rafael look over towards Andrew as he now approaches us.
“-but it’s time to you to go out there and kick some ass…and then we can go to the pub and discuss how you’ll mop the floor with this Reid bloke.”
I nod assertively.
“Let’s do this then.”
I said before leading my friends out through the curtains.
