Today we are at a beach. Why are we here? Because sitting on the hot sands, in nothing more than a rather saucy red bikini, is none other than the milky skinned Champion of FSW, Otaki. It has been a few weeks since she unleashed her inner monster and no one has seen or heard from Cheyenne since. However now the Purple Haired Dynamo needs to focus on her upcoming triple threat FSW Title defence against Xavier Reid and Magdalena Lockheart. And yet she seems fixated on a sheet of paper. We step closer and closer until we could see what this paper is…a leaflet of last year’s WrestleFest.
“One year ago I was the most talked about girl in the world. The girl who was in the main event. The girl who got to get toe-to-toe with two of EWC’s biggest names. And the girl who could end up being EWC’s Undisputed Champion. But then I fell when it matters the most. I choked up in the moment. And I was the one who walked out of the arena feeling irrelevant. Fast forward a year and I find myself in a vastly similar yet slightly different situation as now I’m entering this year’s WrestleFest as the Champion in a triple threat match, instead of one of the two challengers. Will I fail flat on my face, like the Champion did last year? Considering the level of talent I find myself in the ring against.
The first of which is Xavier Reid. When I first heard of this guy I genuinely thought that he might be yet another person who comes to FSW thinking ‘time to coast through development’ and disappear after spending a few months going nowhere. Yet instead he has impressed me day in and day out, winning match after match…hell, if I got my facts straight, Candy eliminating him at StableWars was like the first time he was pinned in an EWC ring. His surge to the Tournament of Power finals, though unexpected, is an amazing showing of why he could be the one to end my reign as FSW Champion.
But then there is Magdalena Lockheart. What can I say about her that haven’t been pointed out before? She is the only person to have ever defeated me since I became FSW Champion. I had to jump her from behind with brass knuckles to pin the Hope Diamond and thus defeating her by a technicality rather than through legitimacy. And I can’t recall the last time she has been pinned. Hell she was even a sole survivor in the big FSW versus Prime match, a match both myself and Xavier were eliminated from. If that doesn’t scream clear threat than nothing else would…”
The Purple Haired Dynamo pauses to reach to her side and pulls a red rose out into our view as she holds it close to her face.
“Most Champions would be worrying themselves silly. After all, on one hand you have someone with not only a vast experience advantage but also the vindictiveness to do the things he did to Lexie Glass. And then on the other hand you have someone who I…well Otaki has never once probably proven herself against. Add in the fact that the last time I was at WrestleFest I was made a laughing stock. Other people…other Champions…in my position would probably be thinking about ‘next times’ and ‘what ifs’…”
The FSW Champion takes a moment to sniff the flower before an almost sickening smile appears upon her face.
“But I am not like other Champions.”
With her words spoken the milky skinned woman blows the rose out of her hands. The moment the head touches the sand everything flashes into whiteness. Once the white fades out into shapes and objects we find ourselves in a corridor with walls, floors and ceiling of limestone bricks and the only form of light being torches hanging off the walls around us. We turn around a few times until we find the sight of the English competitor who is now wearing a red military-styled dress. Exit Otaki, enter Robina Hood.
“Instead of being a Champion who worries and prays, I am the Champion who looks at this match with a smile and a lick of my lips. For while Maggie thinks that this will be the night where she can finally be Champion and Xavier Reid sees this as a brilliant opportunity for both revenge and glory…this match is nothing more than a superb finale for FSW’s twenty-seventeen. A finale that’ll end with the ever so familiar sight of I, and I alone, holding the FSW Championship above my head in glory of yet another successful Title defence. Champions come and Champions go. Champions lose and even a couple gave up or quit…but did you know that I’ve been holding the FSW Championship for approximately two hundred days?
Name a Champion that has done better.
Can’t?
Of course you can’t; for – as shown back in the Rod Laver Arena – nobody can truly get onto my level.”
Arrogantly left the lips of the Demented Archer as she proudly puffs her chest out and laughs in a victorious manner, already seeing her apparently upcoming victory, before looking momentarily puzzled towards us.
“What? You think that I’m selling those support acts short? Okay then, let’s look at Xavier Reid, this unmagnificent ‘Bastard of Volando’. Oh he’s the biggest and most experienced person in this match, of course that’s true, but where was that experience and size when he was being beaten to a pulp by a bunch of glorified henchmen? Or even when that female leprechaun from Prime had the better of him? Silence is the answer. Xavier has shown the kind of viciousness that is worth somewhat praising, for the manner he dealt with Lexie Glass to get to the Tournament of Power finals is simply impressive. And I will admit to being pleasantly surprised by the desire Reid has shown in the way he fought and clawed his way into this Championship bout.”
After saying her words The Emo Princess uses her head to motions for us to follow her before walking pass us. Quickly we catch up and begin walking beside this differently dressed woman as she speaks up.
“But desire, while beautiful, always have a limit…and clearly intelligence, or better put a lack of intelligence, is what going to limit him. After all, instead of being a team player he chose to argue and prioritise El Pablo, thus embarrassing himself in our FSW versus Prime match. Instead of taking notice of certain people’s backstage activities he chose to think of only a match, thus leading himself to being easily jumped by the Bash Street Kids knockoff. Hell, Xavier, if you’re wondering why I deem you as not much competition then here is a question I have for you…
Why are you here?
Let me explain myself. A couple years ago you were around on Brawl…but then you disappeared for years and, like a U-Boat, you rose back up but in FSW instead. So…why here? Why not back to the supposed ‘main roster’? Heh…I think I already know why. You came to EWC thinking you’re some big shot and you fucked up in the spotlights…so, if anything, you somewhat know what I went through from last year’s WrestleFest. However, unlike me, you chose to run away and make yourself look tough again before coming back to a division you’d think is easier…
Well I ain’t so sorry to burst your bubble but you might as well fuck back off to obscurity after I make the beating from that wannabe takeover look like a tickle.”
While Miss Hood’s voice sounds so soft and her facial expression seems cheerful, there is no denying the level of disregard in the young Brit’s words and attitude as she finally stops by golden curtains to look over towards us.
“But talking about the new Neo Team Rocket brings me to the other challenger, the challenger who once again finds herself in a triple threat match with yours truly and the challenger who has apparently done an one-eighty since her inability to beat me at Night of Champions…Magdalena Lockheart. Everyone already knows about the fact that her debuting match resulted in her defeating me. I’m sure people would realise that she was the sole survivor of the FSW versus Prime match, not me. And I am more than certain that the vast majority of people betted on Maggie winning this Tournament of Power the moment she previously failed to dethrone me.
But that’s the story you, isn’t it Maggie? You look so promising at multiple points…but when the target is right in front of you…you miss. Night of Champions is one example. Then at Rumble in the Bronx I outlasted you even when you had the advantage of both entering ten places after me and not having to compete earlier in the night. And let’s not forget about the fact you failed to win like two or three matches before having your position in FSW questioned. Yeah I spent eight straight months losing but it said a lot about how lousy you must have been to be given an ultimatum in such short time.”
Robina laughs rather ignorantly as she haughtily puffs her chest out before reaching behind her to pull the curtains aside, revealing a starry night sky in the process.
“Remember what I said back in August, Maggie? The whole ‘nearest you’ll ever be to a great Champion’ is by looking up to the stars and hoping that I’m looking down? Well, you see darling, even with all the things that has happened since…my opinion hasn’t changed at all. While I will admit that you constantly mentioning my daughter make beating you to an inch of your life even more delighting…the main reason for this was what you did at FSW’s finale. You took a bunch of background characters, manipulated them into a second rate Third Street Saints and sabotage the tournament finals…but why did you do this?
Because you didn’t fully believe you could beat Xavier on your own. That is why you can never be a great Champion, Maggie. Because deep in your mind, you can’t hack it. I broke your self-belief back in North Carolina, I further broke it at New York and now you’ve made some minions because not only do you not fully believe in yourself anymore…but it was like your ex-girlfriend, Sam Tolson, tried to warn you a while ago…you’ve let my FSW Championship get to you.
But hey, I guess constant failure can’t be helped…after all, your parents probably abandoned you knowing how much of a disappointment you were destined to be.”
A smirk etches itself across Robina’s face as she lets the curtain go, allowing the sky to be covered again while revealing a new rose in her right hand as she looks down upon it with a more serious expression.
“Disappointment…that word would perfectly describe me from the moment last year’s WrestleFest ended. And yet this year was the story of my rebirth, my return and my reckoning as I enter this triple threat to not only retain my FSW Championship…but also right the wrong of my performance last year. For, dear Magdalena and Xavier, you’re going to help me end this scene the way last year should have ended…in celebration.”
After saying her words the Purple Haired Dynamo gives us a bold smile before throwing the rose directly down upon the floor, blinding us with a bright light in the process.
