The Tidal Wave Conference, a chance not only for interviewers from various sources to flood the fighters with their questions…but also for all the fighters to take verbal cheap shots at their opponent to try to get a psychological advantage through their mind games. Well…almost everyone as, just arriving now, is the purple haired dynamo known as Megan McCrea. She is due to make her fighting debut at Tidal Wave against Brittany Steward and while Britt has spoken about respect and contrasting styles, the Emo Princess has only just arrived. Could this be a blatant sign of disrespect? Or maybe she got lost on the way here? Either way it didn’t take long for the purple haired dynamo to get to her as, the moment she sat herself down, the young Brit raised her hand up to stop any of the interviewers from speaking.
“Before any questions I’d like to apologise to Brittany Steward and everyone else here for being late to this conference. I did try really, really, really, hard to get here on time…but then I found a freaking Kangaskhan and I would be kicking the sit out of myself if I didn’t catch it. So, like I said moments ago, I’m sorry.”
After saying her words Megan lowers her hand down, which immediately brought an interviewer up to ask a question.
“Are you sure that’s your reason? Could it be that you don’t view Brittany as a threat? May-”
“Whoa, you calling me a liar?”
The milky skinned woman interrupted the interviewer straight away with a question. Well it sounded like a question…however the look in her eyes has said interviewer shiver and go silent as he quickly sits down. Seeing an opportunity to ask his own question another interviewer stands up.
“Megan…you’ve been a professional wrestler for four years and you’ve tried your hand at different factors, from becoming a part time singer to follow in the footsteps of your fiancée Shannon Treamon to even signing a contract with the Vancouver Orcas until the women’s American football club went to liquidation-”
The Englishwoman did chuckle at the mentioning of her attempt of an American football career.
“But competitive mixed martial arts is something that many of your fans wouldn’t expect you try, especially when you’ve have neither experience nor any proper training beforehand. So Megan, any respect you may or may not have towards your opponent aside, do you honestly think you have a chance against Brittany Steward, who – unlike you – have been expertly trained?”
“Truth be told…I can see why people would say that Brittany is the favourite to our fight. I mean look at her-”
Most the cameras pan their attention to Miss Steward.
“-she’s built like a truck and, knowing my luck, she’ll hit me like one too. Then add in the fact that she has been trained in mixed martial arts and that she has the size – as well as reach – advantage over me…but-”
The cameras snap back towards the Englishwoman.
“Don’t underestimate me. Yes professional wrestling is not something many would consider as tough as mixed martial arts…but let me ask you these questions-”
Megan glances over towards Brittany Steward.
“-have you ever fallen off a fifteen foot ladder? Have you ever been thrown off a twenty foot cage? Have you ever been slammed through a table? Well I have. Twice, once and twice respectively. I’ve had my head bashed in with steel chairs and even had a few concussions in the past four years, hell the last one I had took me out of action for most of July. Yet here I am now, more than ready to walk into another cage to battle one hell of an athlete in you. So, Brittany, you can hit me like a god damn truck…but, respect aside, you’ll need a bloody army to keep me down.”
Not only does her voice sound serious but the glare in her eyes seem equally serious as the only thing to split her attention away is a third interview standing up to ask his question.
“Quite strong words, Megan. Not long ago Brittany tweeted out about the possibility of, regardless of the outcome of your fight, you two becoming a tag team. Do you have anything to say about this?”
That question did bring a light chuckle out from the Emo Princess’ lips before she starts to answer said question.
“Well it’s one thing to say something on Twitter and another to say it face-to-face…so Britt…”
The milky skinned fighter turns her head back towards her upcoming opponent.
“…you still interested in, no matter what happens in the Qudos Bank Arena, forming a team with me?”
