December 10th
The room is dark, almost abyssal in its darkness, with the only form of lighting appearing to be a icy shade of blue lighting shooting up from the ground. And with that light we are able to see is the Michigan resident known as Lucy Middley. Her lack appearance in relating to EWC was in defeat and sadness yet now the woman with what appears to be blue hair looks...different in the eyes, and that is not because of the bright blue highlight on the upper eyelids.
“Ciao.”
Lucy said before smiling a little.
“That's Italian for 'hello'...well I think it is at least. But why did I try to speak Italian? Because of EWC having their last big event of the year, Wrestlefest Thirteen, will be taking place in Italy...Rome to be exact. What a beautiful city it is...well at least that is what it sounds like. What? You think I've been out there? Nope, not at all. If anything I've been locked in this room since last night. Why oh why oh why you ask? The answer is simpler than the question, my children.
I'm preparing myself.
Preparing for what, you ask? That answer is simpler than the last answer. It may not be broadcast on pay-per-view but there is a certain match at Wrestlefest...a battle royal to be exact...and the winner of said battle royal could make one heck of a start to their life on the nineteenth or so season EWC. You know...by having a shot at either the United States or International Championship. But how can being alone in the dark be class as preparing myself. Because it is a battle royal, a match where loads of people share the same ring and the only way to win is to make sure everyone else is thrown over the top rope and have both their feet touch the floor. So like the rules of the Japanese film with the same name, there can only be one winner.”
The chuckle that followed sounded...broken...like between sanity and lunacy. Yet Middley didn't seem to really notice this as the female continues to speak.
“Don't get me wrong though. Teamwork is such an amazingly beautiful thing, perfect for many situations...but this is the exception. I've watched more than enough replays of battle royals and matches with the word 'rumble' in them to know that there are too many, bitterly selfish, people about to trust any of them. Especially since their loyalty is just as accurate as a plumber's estimate. So by having myself locked up in here, all alone, I am isolating myself from such people and teaching myself to rely on no one but myself...for is every man, woman and child for themselves. Right...RIGHT?”
She screeched out that last word at a heightened pitch. Maybe this self-isolation is not having the effect that Lucy has planned on it having as, for the shortest of moments, her eyes look completely crazed as she followed her 'question' with some rather broken crackling.
“But don't take such words as too much negativity...for there is still a sunlight of hope beaming in the dark...and the name of that light is Lucy Middley. I know that sounds egotistical but let's look at the bigger picture. EWC has been alive and kicking since nineteen-ninety-seven and throughout the years they've seen many people come and go. Big bad monsters, plucky underdogs, hero of the masses, people who hurting others and I'd love to know if the rumour about Buff Bagwell once competed here were true. But none of them, NONE OF THEM, are like me. I don't seek destruction or fame, money or blood. I just want to be the person that a child could look up to when they feel alone or troubled.
And for that reason I am not only entering this battle royal but I am also going to WIN this battle royal and show the children at home that no one, NO ONE, can stop them from achieving there dreams. So remember this, all of those that plan on trying to stop me from winning the battle royal....”
After saying her words the blue haired girl tilted her head down, letting some of her hair cover her eyes.
“Haters be Losers.”
After those words were said some lights blast on from behind her...revealing a group of dancers dancing behind the American girl.
“Now shut up and dance with me!”
The footage snaps off into static.
