His hand touched the mat for a third time and my eyes widened in shocked. I finally did it…I’ve pinned the Guv’nor, ending the most dominant reign ever record on Meltdown. I almost cried in pure excitement as I looked towards him with no hatred or love, but with respect and personal admiration as the crowd are actually giving us a stand ovation…never once did I think I would ever get such a response from these people as Siena Harrison personally congratulated me right on the stage. I know that she is mainly there to find out which show Guv decides to go for…so, with my head finally held high, I made it through the black curtains into the backstage area.
Two weeks ago I kept my head down to avoid everyone’s mistrusting eyes yet now I have crew member after crew member congratulate me on my greatest victory. Clearly a lot can change in just two weeks as I’ve not only qualified for the test For the Best tournament, but I’ve also finally proved to the rest of the roster that I deserve to be in their main event star. Even though the distance between the curtains and my locker room is the same, the time it took to get there felt shorter…perhaps time stands still when in sorrow? I’m honestly not sure but either way, when I got into my locker room, I was a lot more joyous when taking off my clothes or having a shower.
The water was refreshing in a great way and the fluffy pink trowel was so cuddly as I used it to dry myself up before wrapping it around my pale body. After I departed from the shower room I approached the desk where the make-up and mirror are, sat down beside it and looked directly at my reflection. Two weeks ago I saw nothing more than a wreck that I utterly despised, even wishing that this person was dead, yet now I was able to do something I haven’t been able to do for a long time…
“You did good.”
I softly said those words before a smile appeared on my face. It wasn’t a twist, angelic or fake smile…but a genuine, you were fantastic, kind of smile. While smiling to myself I listened to the television in the room, since it was showing what was going on in the ring, and I will admit that I was bloody surprised when Guv’nor announced that he would be staying on Meltdown. But hey, tonight marks the end of our feud so I doubt we’ll ever cross paths anytime soon. After twenty minutes I got myself out of the trowel and dressed up before finding out that there is a text message on my phone. So I grabbed the phone, found out that it was from Sienna’s, rather useless, brother Tyler and checked the message to read this:
“Guv’nor vs. Jace Savage vs. Niobe ‘Nightmare’ Martin vs. Robina Hood in a Roulette Wheel Match for the North American Title next week.”
“…Another shot?”

“…Another shot?”
act 2
The location of today is a casino of some kind, which would make a lot of sense since this upcoming Meltdown is taking place in none other than Las Vegas, but this casino looks very empty…almost lifeless in fact. Whoever was holding the camera stepped back from the slot machine, that this scene began at, before spotting a red rose on the floor. Just when the camera was about to zoom in on it, the device spotted a second rose nearby as well as another nearby that one. It didn’t take long for the camera operator to realise that this was a trail of some kind as he followed these roses until finally stopping when he spotted a pair of boots dangling in the air. So the camera slowly moved upwards to see that sitting on a poker table is the purple haired dynamo Robina Hood. In her left hand a hand of cards, while in her right is a red rose.
“Las Vegas, the home of the people who would happily gamble their lives away for the illusion of finally striking gold.”
Robina’s voice was quite disparaging in the way she used it when saying her first sentence, ignoring how her red military styled dress - with a semi transparent part of her lower skirt - is making the cameraman blush, before sighing lightly while shaking her head.
“But that is the scene for tomorrow night, Scene Four: The Scene of Chances. And what a chance is disposed upon me as the reception of Scene Three was so good that I’ve been handed another opportunity to become the new North American Champion. What must I do to become Champion? I need to take these three supporting acts…Guv’nor, Jace Savage and Niobe Martin…and produce another master class performance. What is the Scene of Chances about? Two men and two women, all four of them around the roulette wheel and all of after the same prize. Yet three will lose for only one can win and it is that one who’ll take the grand prize. Perhaps not the best of summaries but I’m more of a star and a puppeteer than a summariser. But if you want a spoiler so badly then I guess it won’t hurt to tell you people how the scene will end…it will end with me standing tall with the North American Championship in my hands and the other three by my feet.”
Her naturally haughty attitude was more than evidenced in the deranged archer’s tone of voice as she said her words. After finishing her words Miss Hood giggled quite sweetly while carefully slotting the rose into her cleavage, in a way that only the flower head could be seen.
“What is that? You doubt my ability to handle my puppets? Where have you been in the pass two weeks? Not only did I pin that nobody Jace Savage two weeks ago but I also ended Guv’nor four month undefeated streak last week. But if you want me to explain to you why I have no doubt over my abilities so badly…then fine, I’ll show you why…but first let’s pick a card.”
After saying her last few words the eighteen year old megastar looked her right hand over to the three cards, that her left hand is hold, and plucked out the middle one before glancing at what she chose. After seeing what she has chosen a slight smile appeared on dear Robina’s face as she turned the card around to see the camera that she has picked the queen of diamonds.
“The queen of diamonds, none other than the woman I knocked out with a steel chair…Niobe Martin. Our history have involved steel chairs, arm injuries, leg injuries and even a few barbaric matches from street fights to the eight person ladder match back at Rasslemania Nine. I will that, ever since Rasslemania, you have improved a hell of a lot Miss martin…but, unfortunately for you, that improvement seem to have taken quite a detour when your dear Tommy Knoxville ran away from Meltdown faster than Speedy Gonzalez could when after a piece of cheese. Could you be annoyed at me ‘stealing’ your victory two weeks ago in that tag team match? If so then you’re not such an appreciative diva aren’t you? You can call it stealing Niobe but I call it securing my victory since victories aren’t very common with you…especially considering you’ve lost at Survive and Conquer, Rasslemania Nine and Mayhem.”
Even though saying her words with some intent the forest-dweller’s attention seem to be more on the card she is fiddling with. Yet after saying her words the young woman chuckled almost manically as she knew the queen of diamonds card away, her eyes darting their attention solely upon the camera recording her.
“What? Are you upset Niobe? Upset about what? You had a great opportunity to prove to the world that you don’t need that piece of trailer trash, Tommy Knoxville, to be a success and what happened? You failed…AGAIN. Seriously…you got pinned in that match against the abysmal Natural Born Killers, got knocked the fuck out by me on quite a few occasions and hardly brought up a fight back at Rasslemania. So instead of grumbling about how I ‘stole’ your victory over Jace, you should be thanking me for helping you score a tag team victory over the greatest Champion the North American Title had in the pass year. You know what Niobe? You were worth a fraction of my time when I was just some rookie living in a forest but, quite frankly, you’re just going to be cannon fodder in this match up…hell…you don’t even deserve to be on my stage anymore. So after you lose tomorrow night, like you lose at everything, you might as well leave this company since you’re likelihood of ever succeeding is as big as Knoxville’s dick when erect…even tic-tacs are bigger.”
‘Tic-tacs are bigger’…where the hell did Robina think of that!?! The purple haired megastar couldn’t help but burst out laughing after making her comment. While laughing the young woman slid down from the poker table and landed on her feet. When her laughing subdued Miss Hood picked out another card and instantly began talking again.
“Now what is our next card…oh, the two of clubs? That must be you Jace, and no…these cards weren’t picked randomly. These cards are picked to show I honestly value your talents as a decent supporting actor…and quite frankly, you’re performances have been even worst than Al Pacino’s performance in some Adam Sandler film. Yes you won the right to lose in the first round of Test For The Best but that means absolutely nothing to me…since two weeks ago you said something about being good enough to handle me, only to be pinned by me. Not only those this show that you’re an embarrassment, but it also shows me that you deserve the right to be called the best. If anything you’re right behind Niobe Martin when it goes to who’s the absolute worst. You don’t like it dear puppet? Well boo-hoo I don’t care about useless, unimportant puppets that I have the displeasure of working with again.”
The confidence within her voice seems to be completely natural, not over of under…just natural…as she spoke out her words. Once she finished her words Robina threw the card behind herself before quickly yet carefully pulling the rose out from her cleavage.
“But don’t worry dear Savage, I’ll still be able to make something out of you, like I did when I pinned you one-two-three. After all, the original Karate Kid was nothing more than a nobody with good potential before some old geezer took him and made him into the icon he is today. Yes Jace, I’ve just admitted to you having an astonishingly good amount of potential. But you need someone to take that potential and convert it into talent. Well look no further sunshine since I can make you into a real star. All you have to do is bring this ‘Savage’ side of you into the ring and not only will I EASILY defeat you again, but I will also beat you in a manner that’ll portray you has a tragic hero…like Boromir was in his death scene during the first Lord of the Rings film. So you think you can take me on Jace? Bring it on then since if I can beat you once, beating you again will be easier than letting go off this rose.”
Weirdly the Iron Maiden found her eyes glaring upon the rose, even though her words were solely focused on Jace. Yet after finishing her words Robina smiled in a friendly manner and dropped the flower. The moment the flower head hit the floor the entire scene was taken over by a blinding light. When the camera regained its focus the scene was no longer inside the empty casino…but inside some kind of roman theatre with Robina Hood sitting on the edge of the stage with not only a slight grin on her face but also the card in both of her hands.
“Now we’re back in an area I’m comfortable in…the Theatre of the Deranged. The last time I was here I spoke of this man…the current North American Champion…the king of spades…The Guv’nor.”
After uttering the name of the current Champion the young Brit lets go of the card, letting it fall down onto the floor as her cocky look disappeared and her eyes pierced the camera lens with their intensity.
“Last week I achieved my greatest victory by finally defeating you, in a match that is officially the end of our chronicle. I’ve earned your respect and you earned mine, even though it won’t stop me from breaking your face tomorrow night. But we’ve been through so much together haven’t we Guv? Ladders, crowbars, brass knuckles and steel cages…so much war, so much animosity, so much excitement. You didn’t hear me wrong bruvah…after every single match we had against each other, even when I lost, I always felt excited and delighted. And it was only after last Monday’s Meltdown went off the air that I’ve finally found out why…because I always give out the grandest of all my performances every-fucking-time I’m against you Guv and, like it or not, the greatest matches you’ve ever experienced on Meltdown have all involved me. You and I are like Batman and Joker respectively…without one, no one would have known the other.”
Batman and Joker? A bit of a slightly unique way to view one self and their rival. While saying her words Robina got off the stage and bent herself over, ignoring the blushing cameraman as he can clearly see her cleavage due to her position. She easily straighten herself up with a pink rose in hand and sniffed the rose before speaking up yet again.
“But we’re not a man afraid of bats and some clown, we’re more than that. We’re the two biggest draws Meltdown have, at Mayhem we proved to the world while Meltdown is the future of Action Packed Wrestling, we’re Lenny Lansbury and Megan McCrea. I finally won one match against you and I’m excited about that. But frankly, Guv, this ‘Roulette Wheel’ four way match is not about who is better or worst…but about opportunities, who’ll get and capitalise upon the right opportunity to become the North American Champion. And unfortunately for you, Jace and Niobe…this Scene of Chances will end with me defeating all three of you, again.”
After finishing her final few words Miss Hood gave out a cocky smile before simply dropping the rose, the blinding light the flower caused after touching the floor ending the last thing recorded on the camera.
“Las Vegas, the home of the people who would happily gamble their lives away for the illusion of finally striking gold.”
