TREADMILLS ARE OUT TO GET ME
The location at this current occasion is a gym and currently sitting on a bench, looking down at his empty hands, is one Adrian Jobs. Last week, in his very first match since losing the Television Championship, Jobs did what many others thought he wasn’t able to do in defeating Dolph Ziggler. Yes, Eric McKay did provide a distraction of some kind but in the end the record books would say that Jobs defeated the former Titans Champion. In a couple of nights he’ll be taking another person, who would also happen to be in his second week since his return, Cash Johnson. Yet why is Adrian, who is currently wearing his rather scruffy ‘YES!’ t-shirt with a pair of sweatpants and a pair of Nike trainers, simply looking at his empty hands? Because he would normally wearing the Television Title around his waist but he no longer has that belt in his possession…so the male is basically grasping onto thin air, as if desperately pleading with the Gods that the Championship was still in his hands.
JOBS’ PSYCHOTHERAPIST, LILITH SHADOW
“Yet another symptom Nathan have warned me about.”
Those words caused the male’s head to shoot up and immediately saw, in front of him but a bit to the right, is his therapist Lilith Shadow. The young female is wearing a clean formal suit, but with a pencil skirt instead of pants, while in her right hand is a clipboard. The male was about to speak but wasn’t able to as Lilith placed both of her hands in his. Her hands felt so soft…so gentle…just like fluffy kitten as Miss Shadow spoke up again.
JOBS’ PSYCHOTHERAPIST, LILITH SHADOW
“I understand that two weeks ago, in your last promo as Television Champion, you said that the Title is your ‘life’ but the first step in moving on is acceptance; I can tell that you haven’t fully accepted this fact yet. Nathan requested me to help you get prepared for your match against Mister Johnson…even though we already had an agreement of going out for a dinner together, so that I can possibly understand you better…so we’re going to have a compromise.”
Adrian listened to the raven haired woman’s words, not acknowledging that his body has stood not the fact that Lilith was actually guiding him somewhere. After the word ‘compromise’ left the young therapist’s lips she stopped walking back and lets go of Adrian’s right hand, her right hand still holding onto his left. This brought the former Champion back to reality as he glanced up to see that she brought him to a treadmill.
JOBS’ PSYCHOTHERAPIST, LILITH SHADOW
“Basically you’re going to do some exercise then you’ll have a shower and afterwards we’ll go off to have our meal. Are you alright with that Mi-Adrian?”
Again Lilith seem to have a slight problem with dropping her formality and Adrian chuckled lightly at this before shooting out a small smile, the first smile he made all day.
AWESOME! ONE, ADRIAN JOBS
“Deal.”
While saying his one words the Chicago born male gently squeezed her hand, assuring her that he will oblige by their deal. Moments after she lets go of his hand Adrian moved onto the treadmill and switched it onto a pretty fast run setting before beginning to run himself, guessing that he should train his endurance. But only five steps in this run and Jobs noticed that his psychotherapist looks slightly confused.
AWESOME! ONE, ADRIAN JOBS
“Is anything the problem?”
JOBS’ PSYCHOTHERAPIST, LILITH SHADOW
“Nothing is a problem, M-Adrian, but I do have a question about this Cash Johnson guy you’re facing this Friday…”
AWESOME! ONE, ADRIAN JOBS
“Well shoot, what is your question about him?”
JOBS’ PSYCHOTHERAPIST, LILITH SHADOW
“Who is he?”
The look that appeared on Adrian’s face, just from that three worded question, was not only indescribable but also utterly priceless. His face wasn’t the only thing to react however as his body froze to the spot in shock…and guess what happens when you stop on a moving treadmill? The damn machine would throw you off without a moment of mercy and that is exactly what happened here as, in almost light speed, Jobs was flung across the gym straight into the bench. Fortunately for Adrian’s wallet the bench didn’t break, unfortunately for Adrian’s head the bench didn’t break as the back of his skull collided with the bench. All the egotistical bodybuilders in this gym since glanced over towards him, mutter something along the lines of ‘what an amateur’ and continued on with their weights as Lilith rushed over to Jobs. Miss Shadow’s expression could be described with just one word…dread. Her guilt was telling her mind that she caused this as she knelt down and immediately pulled out her phone, dialling in the numbers for the nearest hospital, but before she could make the call Adrian’s left hand placed itself on her phone.
AWESOME! ONE, ADRIAN JOBS
“No need to call anybody…I’m not dead yet…ow…”
While slowly saying his words the male barely managed to sit himself up, with his back against the bench. After saying his words Adrian gave out a classically goofy smile. This brought a soft chuckle out of Lilith’s lips as she slowly put the mobile back into her pocket before spotting a first aid kit nearby. Without asking if he wants it or not the female got over to the kit, took it and brought it back to Jobs before opening it up. Within moments she found a roll of bandage and instantly started to wrap the bandage around the male’s head. His eyes were so absorbed by the sight of her breast, since Lilith was leaning forwards to wrap the bandage, that by the time he asked her to stop his forehead had at least ten layers of bandage wrapped around it.
AWESOME! ONE, ADRIAN JOBS
“You still want me to answer your question?”
Miss Shadow was practically surprised that, even though his forehead could rival those of a mummy, Adrian seem to be willing to answer her question. Part of her wanted to say no but the part of her that won was the one that thought ‘I guess it would be rude to say no’ as she carefully sat down beside him, being extremely careful not to mess her skirt while doing so.
JOBS’ PSYCHOTHERAPIST, LILITH SHADOW
“Only if it is alright with you.”
AWESOME! ONE, ADRIAN JOBS
“Of course it is alright with me…whenever a pretty girl has a question that I know the answer of, it is my God-given right to provide that pretty girl with the answer. Cash Johnson is known as the ‘Money making SOB’ but truth be told…he haven’t done anything since his victory over Kameron Copeland at Beach Brawl, which is probably why you haven’t even heard of him. It is quite amusing though how Cash seem to be set, financially, yet competitively he haven’t done anything other than that one big victory. He entered and lost that one night tournament for the World Championship but other than those two things his career in World Elite Wrestling has been simply minute. I’m sure Johnson will probably bring up how he is a multiple time Champion at some little league but, rather frankly, that crap is completely irrelevant since all that matters is what he have done and what he will do here. Yes, last week he made his triumphant return by beating some unimportant person to earn the final spot in Shattered Dream’s Revolver Match while I don’t think I’ll even get booked in a pay-per-view match for the very first time since my debut. But the only reason Cash was even in that match was because I was too busy proving to the world why I am ‘The Main Event’ by easily defeating the ‘Show-off’ Dolph Ziggler, who might have been the very person who defeated Johnson in that World Title tournament last year. To tell the truth though, I expected those two munchkins to attack that nobody before the match since the only thing that he have ever done before them was bringing the most hyped up failure that ever showed up in WEW, what was it’s name again? Oh yeah, the Syndicate…and how did that gang officially end? Oh yeah, by his own partner RKO’ing him like every other worm Orton has RKO’ed.”
JOBS’ PSYCHOTHERAPIST, LILITH SHADOW
“Randy Orton? I’ve heard of him.”
AWESOME! ONE, ADRIAN JOBS
“Heh, that is kind of the point…Cash was practically Orton’s number two until being forced to run solo, where he practically floundered at every opportunity given at him. Hell, I was a Champion for almost two hundred days while he frankly won nothing worthwhile. I know that, with Shattered Dreams being not too far away, he is probably banking on defeating me to gain a massive amount of momentum against all the others that might be in that match but he is just going to be leaving Adrenaline bankrupt as here is what I have planed this Friday. I’ll stroll into that arena, the crowd will clap along with my theme, I’ll pop out to their excitement, enter the ring, look Cash Johnson in the eye, hit the Chicago Bank Job and leave as the victor. And that is a bet that I would go for if I was in Cash’s shoes since I am what he isn’t…a megastar. How often have he ever main evented a show? I have made a pretty good habit of it since I made my Adrenaline debut in the main event, I have appeared in many Anarchy main events and I even stole the main event spot from Shady Layne two weeks ago. My ability to give the fans everything they ever ask for in a show is more than enough evidence to validate my claims of being ‘The Main Event.’ Hell, slap my name on a show at Madison Square Garden and it will sell out within the first few days…slap Cash’s name on a show and it’ll struggle to sell out a damn bingo hall. Maybe that is why somebody thought it would be a good idea to put him against me this week. It’ll not only give him the opportunity to face a real prime time player but after I win it’ll give me more than enough momentum to continue being the true highlight of Adrenaline.”
The way he said ‘was a Champion’ did sound pretty sad, so much so that Lilith’s right hand reached out and gave his left hand a gentle squeeze, but as he spoke on more and more confidence was flooding his tone of voice. Two thirds of the way through his words Adrian got his hand out of Lilith’s and began to use his hand s and legs to gingerly get back up to his feet. Miss Shadow was nervous about the male doing this, to a point where she almost asked him to not push himself, but was secretly amazed how the Chicago native forced himself up onto his feet even though dazed from his collision with the bench behind him. After finishing his batch of words Jobs glanced over to Lilith and shot out a cocky smirk before going to the end of his answer.
AWESOME! ONE, ADRIAN JOBS
“So basically your question answers itself Lilith. Cash Johnson is just another face in the crowd that is easily forgettable. I currently have nothing against this chap as him, as well as Quinn and Serena, will all have me rooting for them at Shattered Dreams, and I heavily doubt we will have anything against each other…but frankly, this Friday on Adrenaline he will enter as another face in the crowd and he will leave as another person who tried and failed to defeat the Rated: AWESOME Superstar. And if Cash was here right now I wouldn’t hesitate to tell him the simplest of truths…this seven month rookie is ten times the superstar he will ever be. As for the reason, it can’t be any more simple since it is the very same reason I’ll beat him this Adrenaline without any problem. Because I’m Adrian Jobs and I’m…awesome.”
His first ‘AWESOME’ shout did get a lot of annoyed expressions from the bodybuilders but the ever so confident male simply ignored them as he continued to speak to his psychotherapist. At his last line Miss Shadow braced herself for his second ‘AWESOME’ shout, since he was close to her face, but got quite a surprise when he instead leaned down so they were perfectly eye-level and softly whispered his very last word into her left ear. After his whisper the male lets go of her soft hand and bent down to grab her clipboard, since she did put it down before originally going for her phone, before picking it up and handing it to her.
AWESOME! ONE, ADRIAN JOBS
“Since these treadmills are out to get me…why not we pretend that I did workout and we go off to that meal?”
While making his offer the former Television Champion handed the clipboard to Lilith, not losing his friendly grin, and the female smiled lightly back to him while accepting the clipboard. She nodded softly, as if indicating the word ‘deal,’ and the two of them ended up leaving the gym together. Even though Miss Shadow plan on using this meal as an opportunity to know her client better, I have a special feeling that Adrian will use this opportunity for something else.
