Sitting on a metal folding chair, somewhere backstage of the arena that the upcoming Evolve will take place at, is Naomi Knight. On her Real Wrestling League debut Knight had an absolute stunner of a performance against the likes of Rima Fakih and MsChif, with the highlight of the match being Naomi’s tope over the top and onto her opponents. Unfortunately this high risk high excitement style backfired in the end when Fakih pushed Knight off the turnbuckle and out of the ring before making MsChif submit. Even though she had her, kind of big, posterior handed to her in the triple threat Naomi didn’t mind this factor, since she was one of the first to admit that Rima deserved the victory. But the thing she did mind about the night was how unsupportive her suppose to be mentor, Chuck Taylor, has been to her. First he completely ignored the girl’s performance in the match…then he has the nerves to compliment a completely different rookie while slating his own. Well now Chuck has no choice but to take notice as he is going to be her tag partner against Jessie McKay, a fellow rookie who lost last week, and her mentor/number one contender to the Vendetta Heavyweight Championship Chris Jericho.
To a point Naomi felt bummed out about how much her mentor don’t care about her…but she also felt angry of what Taylor said about her. The girl had very little notice of Pokemon but he taught her enough to know that being classed as a Tentacruel is an insult. Earlier today the young lady requested some time with Todd Grisham and a cameraman but is she really ready for an interview? Its better now then never to express one’s self but is she in the right frame of mind for this? Naomi is currently wearing a black tank top with matching, tight-fitting, pants that boasts her curves very well. Miss Knight is also thinking about what can she call her own fan base, since that is this week’s challenge. She could nickname them “Neeps” by fusing the letter starting her first name and Christian’s fan base name together…but as if Naomi would want to potentially insult a legend. Even if she wanted a lot more time to think of a name she could for two reasons, one being that tonight’s when she has to announce it and number two…Todd Grisham and a cameraman found her and approached the young woman. The interviewer was wearing his seem to be uniform suit and pants while the cameraman wore a scruffy shirt with jeans. But instead of starting the interview Todd got the cameraman to hold the microphone for a moment before crouching down to look be at head level with Naomi.
Todd Grisham: I have a feeling that you’re not one-hundred percent for this interview, am I right?
“Night-Mare” Naomi: You’re right…there is just so much to do…I have to make a name for my own version of Hulkamania. I have a tag team match later tonight against Chris Jericho and Jessie McKay. And I think my own mentor has given up on me already…am I doomed to be the first eliminated?
Todd Grisham: I doubt it, if you don’t count Sexy Star, you had the most exciting style of wrestling out of all the rookies.
“Night-Mare” Naomi: Thanks…I think I’m ready for the interview now.
Todd Grisham: Are you sure about this? If you’re not then we could wait for later.
While the innocent and great interviewer spoke the “Living Nightmare” stood up, folded the chair and placed it against a wall before coming back to the two. Once Naomi fully understood Todd’s words the girl nodded. So now the interviewer received his microphone from the guy holding the camera before that same guy indicated that they can start the interview now.
Todd Grisham: Hello everybody. I’m Todd Grisham and the guest with me right now is the talented yet unfortunate Naomi Knight so please welcome her.
“Night-Mare” Naomi: Thank you for the welcoming.
Todd Grisham: Well, before we could begin I would like to ask you this straight off the bat…how did you find your Real Wrestling League debut?
“Night-Mare” Naomi: My debut in RWL? Well at the start I was nervous as hell, since it was a new environment to me yet as soon as we started to introduce ourselves it felt like WWE nXt all over again…so those butterflies disappeared by the time it was my match. Before the match I was seeking advice and Chuck Taylor just stared blankly at me before continuing to play on that gameboy thing…
Todd Grisham: It’s a Nintendo DS.
“Night-Mare” Naomi: That’s the point. Instead of making me more calm and relaxed Taylor chose a game over his duty of mentoring me. And after my match, what did he do? Ridicule me because he can’t be bothered to watch a match. So when I got out there I basically did what I already knew without a lot of direction…but it even though I lost, when I wasn’t the one beaten, I shall admit that Rima deserved the victory and now I really hope she can defeat Madison Rayne a short bit after my match, since she has proven to me that the girl has the skills. Is that answer good enough?
Todd Grisham: It is, thanks for answering that question about the past but now for the present and near future. Later tonight you’ll be battling both Jessie McKay and Chris Jericho in a mixed tag team match with your partner being Chuck Taylor. How do you like your chances?
“Night-Mare” Naomi: My chances? If you asked me that last week I would say that I know I have more then what it takes to win…oh wait, I already did last week. This week it is just me and Jessie McKay, the self-proclaimed “Everyone’s Favourite Girlfriend”, since in a mixed tag team match Jericho can’t hit me without getting disqualified. I have nothing against Jessie but I shall not only beat her but prove absolute dominance as I reveal to her why I can be a real “Nightmare”. I have nothing against Jessie but I need this victory to prove why I am a serious contender in this competition. I do understand that Jessie wants to prove this as well since she got a win-lost record of nil and one, even though it was her talented partner that got pinned one, two and three. But she should understand that this is literally the best opportunity I have to prove my value to Chuck Taylor, since it feels obvious that he doesn’t think I’m worth his time. Unfortunately I wanted to spend a week in Australia to get more of an idea of how to what you call “talk-smack” but my mentor wouldn’t let me…so I have nearly no method of using her home country to slate her. But if there is something I can boast over Jessie is probably my in-ring ability since, in my view I am miles better then McKay.
No offence to Jessie, if she’s actually watching this footage but I have never seen her wrestle before Evolve so I hold my arsenal as superior compared to hers…and I bet it is vice versa when it goes to her thoughts on both our arsenals. Yet I’ll continue my word by stating something out of my mind…if this was just you and me then I would be the clear cut winner. My flexibility, my talent, my in-ring style, experience and my confidence will steer me through both you and your mentor Chris Jericho as I gain my first victory on Evolve Season Two. Hell, I shall bring back something I used in my last promo since it could perfectly explain both our situations. And if you want to know that thing is then I can happily give you a very simple clue of what it is…three letters, three words and three completely, utterly and clear definitions…P.E.P.
Once the young Evolve Protégée said those three letters a smile appeared on her beautiful African-American face. Todd knew that Naomi wanted to continue speaking so he made no motion of interrupting her nor end the interviewer or even ask a different question.
“Night-Mare” Naomi: Pressure is on both of us Jessie, even through we would gladly say that it isn’t. After last week the pressure is on me to actually show that I can win a match, not just be a filling entertainer. Meanwhile the pressure is on you to make sure that Chris Jericho doesn’t look neither weak or soft on the way to his World Title Match at Bash At The Beach. After last week the people expect me to out-perform what I’ve done in the triple threat match while, with having Chris Jericho as your mentor, I couldn’t possibly imagine the huge expectations that is on you. And tonight the fans, our mentors, the people in management and our fellow rookies will all be watching our performance since we both need to prove our awesomeness to the world on global television. But “global television” could be the main point of our confrontation Jessie, unlike you and the rest of the protégées here, I have experience of being watched all across the world…so that kind of pressure is mainly on you and not on me. I just really hope you don’t collapsed to this pressure or else it won’t be so hard for me to prove why I am your “Nightmare”.
Once Knight said those words Grisham knew that now was the best time to next his following question, which he didn’t waste any time in doing.
Todd Grisham: “If” is kind of the key word in your speech Naomi since it won’t just be you two. Your partner Chuck Taylor, a finalist of Evolve Season One, and McKay’s partner Chris Jericho shall also be in this match. So how do you think those two would change the scales of this match.
“Night-Mare” Naomi: A mismatch.
The way Naomi instantly spoke out those two words surprised Todd yet the young female decided to explain herself.
“Night-Mare” Naomi: You have a former World Champion and the first Undisputed Champion. He has held more titles then he has teeth, he has masterminded the ranks of charisma and could be the next Vendetta Heavyweight Champion. And then you have Chuck Taylor…a guy who can only win when it goes to Pokemon…he holds no titles reigns that I’ve heard of, he started his mentoring in an awful way and I bet he doesn’t even know the meaning of “you don't believe you can win then there is no point in even becoming a wrestler”. I will try my best against Jessie McKay but when it goes to Jericho then I can’t do a thing and relay on my so far hopeless mentor, Chuck Taylor, to handle his own against him…and what the hell, I’ll do to Chuck what he did to me after my match…
After hearing her words the interviewer and cameraman was wondering what the young hopeful meant but before they could mentally predict Naomi Knight spoke out her words.
“Night-Mare” Naomi: I would rank Chuck Taylor as a Charmander that you just get at level five…he’s cute and enjoyable once known, while also has the potential to become amazing…but instead chose to be lazy and became useless. Meanwhile I would rate Chris Jericho as a level seventy-eight Arcanine; he’s lightening quick, strong, powerful, great to look at and can easily think of a way to defeat any opponent. So that is how I think this is a mismatch…and Chuck, if you’re watching this, yes I do know something about the Pokemon you keep bombarding onto me. This is enough from me, Todd, so I wish both Jessie and Chris the best of luck in the match while Taylor…for all that you’re worth, please don’t screw the “Nightmare” in potentially the greatest match on Evolve Season Two.
Once the young said those words Naomi went off, probably towards her quarters to make her own game-plan. Meanwhile the cameraman switched off the camera before accompanying Grisham to the production truck. Truth be told Naomi didn't mind the Pokemon lessons that Chuck has gave her neither did she hate Taylor being by her side teaching her things...it could be possible that the young female is still angry about no matter what she did, Chuck never noticed. Or maybe this promo was just her attempt of getting her mentor's attention...either way, she will hopefully get his attention tonight.
